This training aimed at improvement of practical skills of national trainers for conducting cascade training sessions on insertion and removal of Intrauterine Devices. 25 specialists - obstetrician-gynecologists of reproductive health centers, city and regional maternity houses from Dushanbe, Rasht district, Khatlon, and Sughd regions, and GBAO participated in the training.
In the course of training, part icipants were introduced to WHO medical eligibility criteria for contraception methods usage, standard operational procedure on Post-Placental intrauterine device insertion, and standard operational procedures on insertion and removal of intrauterine devices.
In addition to theoretical part, training also included practical sessions providing the participants with an opportunity to practice IUD insertion directly on women in post-delivery.
